Chawamushi is d specialty here. Got d braised pork set ¥1705. Pork belly was a tad dry but overall tasted good. Slight queue at 1:30PM. Service was good. Food served fast. Overall great experience.

The best part of my meal was the chawanmushi and pork belly. I also liked the okra too. The rice was decent but not my cup of tea, a bit too sweet for my liking. Worth visiting to get a taste of Nagasaki cuisine, even if you are not a fan.

Quite a large space on the 2nd floor. Choice of Japanese tatami seats or normal table and chairs seating. Food served was quick and prompt service.

A big place for decent sushi and noodles. You can choose seats with cushions or seats with tables and chairs.

At lunch time, you can enjoy a reasonably priced set including the famous Chawanmushi, as well as a table meal. It is a recommended shop where you can fully enjoy the long-established taste not only from the building but also from the food. I got a discount if I had a one-day ticket for the Chinchin train.

There is a lot of history to this place. The food was only average tho.The chawan mushi is very nice. One of the best I've had. The stewed pork is quality meat. Flavour is OK only.The pressed sushi is average.

Traditional Japanese restaurant specializing in chawanmushi. Restaurant is located in the Hamanomachi Arcade which is easily accessible by tram. Restaurant is spacious with lots of seating. If going to the second floor, you will be asked to remove your shoes where the 'caretaker of footgear' will take care of your shoes. You can choose between traditional tatami seating or on regular chairs. Lots of set menus to choose from. I suggest to choose one with the chawanmushi as this is what people come here for. The tempura was generous with 5 large pieces of prawns, although it's a bit soggy and greasy. The chawanmushi was superb with lots of hidden treasures underneath. Side dishes were good as well. It is on the pricier side but considering the ambience and quality, I'd say it's worth it.

A must go in Nagasaki. A famous restaurant with over 200 years of history. The chawan mushi set is a must try. I have tried many chawan mushi in Japan and China and this is the best I have tasted so far.

We stumbled upon this restaurant during a recent trip to Nagasaki. We truly enjoyed te food and the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and they accommodated is with an English menu. I ordered the Katsu Don and the family enjoyed Bento boxes. A great dining experience!

Delicious meal sets, slightly expensive but worth the money in terms of both quality and quantity. Would definitely go again.
